It is available in five different lengths with an option of a side or center console. Each iteration sports the new Quintrex Apex hull, plus a Live Bait Tank and spacious underfloor storage. Today we’re going to take a look  at the Quintrex 530 Frontier SC, the second smallest of the range in terms of size.

Design and Layout

The Frontier models are almost the same as the Quintrex Top Ender boats, except for their wider and more squared bow shape. This is advantageous because of the larger storage space and a wider casting platform. Another difference is the higher topsides of the Frontier boats. The Quintrex 530 Frontier SC, because of the high topside, has a minimum free-board of 585 mm at the back and 665 mm free-board along the sides.

The 530 Frontier has a large plastic anchor well that is covered with an alloy hatch, unlike the other Quintrex boats. There is also a rubber matting on either side of the anchor well to avoid slipping when you step on the bow to get off the boat.

The rear cockpit floor is 400 mm below the casting platform and under it are storage lockers for safety equipment. There is also a forepeak locker to house an electric trolling motor battery, with an optional trolling motor plate positioned nearby.

The casting deck is positioned well for excellent fishing experience. With the pedestal chairs assembled on top of the boat and the mount trolling motor placed on the bow, the 530 Frontier looks perfect for fly fishing and lures pitching. The rear cockpit, which measures 2.58m x 1.8m, will also be very useful to anglers because of its depth and size.

Aside from the underfloor storage, the 530 Frontier SC has more storage places to offer. Just like the side storage pocket and the lengthy rod locker under the side coamings. There is also a large covered fish box below the cockpit floor, plus another rear sub-floor storage bin. Lastly, another underfloor storage locker is built specifically for securing the boat battery along with the bilge pump.

The steering wheel, boarding ladder, live bait tank with viewing window, handy grab rail, and the vertical rod rack are some other well-placed features of the Quintrex 530 Frontier SC that buyers will appreciate.

We tested the 530 Frontier on different coastal sea conditions and it fared well. First is an offshore test with some small to medium chops. The sharp bow entry sliced through the chops easily, which makes our ride quite comfortable despite the unsettled water.

The next sea has only some gentle waves. We were able to test 530 Frontier’s ride will speeding and it was very admirable. The boat was able to surf the waves and climb up the troughs easily without broaching. The hull is stable and well balanced, whether the boat is underway or at rest. Overall, the Quintrex 530 Frontier SC is easy to drive. The Suzuki 115hp four-stroke felt strong and was able to run at the top speed of 35.4 knots.

The Quintrex 530 Frontier SC is well-designed and has the right size for a fishing boat. It has a nice two-color finish, premium design, and pretty spacious for a small-sized water-craft. It is equipped with some awesome gear, equipment and other features that will definitely be helpful for fishing.

Quintrex once again proved why it is one of the dominant players in trailer boat market nowadays. Just like the Quintrex 530 Frontier SC, Quintrex’s range of boats are products of continuous innovation and improvement to develop amazing new watercraft for boaters and anglers.
