Sydney Harbour Boating Destinations

Since launching the Sydney Harbour Boating Destinations Plan in 2013, nineteen commercial marinas have opened their docks to allow the boating public access. The initiative has been deemed a success as it encourages boaters to come in and use the Harbour as they can use ones of the nineteen marinas for casual, short term berthing and mooring.

sydney harbourRoads and Maritime Services Director Angus Mitchell said, “Our iconic harbour is the jewel in Sydney’s crown and some of Sydney’s finest marinas offer boaters free access all year around to allow them to hop off, take a break, or grab something to eat or drink.”

The participating marinas are marked clearly with bright green ‘Boating Destination Marina’ flags and bright blue flats direct boaters as to where to tie their boats up. The marinas charge a small fee to cover costs of the marina and facilities.
