Back in 2011, an article appeared on the Business Insider Australia website about a Malaysian businessman who purchased a superyacht called History Supreme. It took three years to build it, and apparently, it is the priciest yacht until today. Now, we’ve heard about some of the wealthiest billionaires who own yachts which are worth hundreds of million dollars.
However, this particular luxury yacht is waaay more expensive. Before we reveal its price and owner, here are the features that make History Supreme the world’s most expensive yacht:
A product of Stuart Hughes
Stuart Hughes is a British creator of luxury items, which include mobile phones, laptops, game consoles, cars, furniture, homes, and yachts. He started his designs and creations way back 1971 in the city of Liverpool, England. Together with his design partner Jo-Emma Larvin, they have produced many of the most luxurious items in the world that are made of gold, diamond, and other precious metals. Today, one of the creations of Stuart Hughes include the iPhone 4S Elite Gold worth USD $8.2 Million.
Heavyweight in precious metals
The 100 ft. body of History Supreme is made up of 100,000 kilograms of gold and platinum. The base of the yacht alone is covered with pure gold, and the other parts, including the rails, deck, and anchor are all made of precious metals. All rooms in this luxury superyacht are also covered with very expensive materials.
The dining room, which is in a glass-covered atrium, has utensils, furniture, and kitchenware of gold and platinum. You will definitely feel like a king or a queen having dinner under the stars. The upper deck is so extravagant, even the stairs are made of pure gold. The most lavish part of the yacht is the main bedroom. Its entirety is adorned with platinum accents and includes a wall feature made of meteoric stone plus a genuine bone from a Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur. How awesome is that?
More expensive than famous billionaires’ yachts
History Supreme is so expensive that it makes the yachts of some famous billionaires seem petty. Have you heard about Paul Allen? He is the co-founder of Microsoft alongside the richest man in the world, Bill Gates. Paul Allen has an estimated net worth of $21.1 Billion. He owns a 414-yacht named “the Octopus” and is worth $200 Million. The yacht has 41 suites, a movie theatre, a basketball court, a recording studio, and two helicopters.
Another billionaire’s yacht that History Supreme topped is the Eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. He also owns the Chelsea Football Club, a Premier League football club. His yacht is worth $1.9 Billion, but still way cheaper compared to History Supreme.
The World’s Most Expensive Yacht
So how much is the History Supreme? It costs a whopping $4.8 Billion. It is said to be owned by the richest billionaire in Malaysia and is the second richest man in Southeast Asia, Robert Kuok. He is the owner of the famous Shangri-La Hotels around the world and has a net worth of $12.5 Billion. Imagine being one of the richest men in the world, relaxing in the most expensive yacht in the world. We wonder how awesome it would be to be in Robert Kuok’s shoes even just for a day. Wouldn’t you?
